I'm gonna getcha

On the brink of toddlerhood

Is pre-toddler a word? There is something about them standing up all alone that makes them look so BIG in pictures.

Livvy gets a package

Dad is working on fine-tuning her musical taste. Her options? Wilco CD or Wilco vinyl.

Little Fish

This kiddo loves the pool. And she loves to grin. You wouldn't believe the lengths we will go to get her to laugh or smile. You get one and you've just have got to have more. In public, dignity and social restraint fly out the window.

Proud Papa Rob

Welcome to the world, sweet Miller Grace Thompson.
We were so excited to get to visit the Thompson family on her first night home from the hospital. Baby girls rock.

Memphis-town

What a nostolgic trip to one of our favorite college sandwich shops. Finos from the Hill. Best turkey on baguette with balsamic that you've ever tasted. To bring our daughter back after we'd had college dates there made for a delightful lunch.

Shout out of congrats to Uncle Jonathan

A college grad! Can't believe it.

Auntie Lisa

Olivia's Aunt Lisa lives far away in LA. That deserves a booh-hoo, but when we get to see her, it's really great.

Uncle Johnny Cash?

Livvy's uncle Jonathan just moved to Austin, Texas. Where else could you get away with wearing a shirt like that in public without being on stage?

Cupcake

To celebrate Ava's second birthday, Olivia joined her for a two-bite cupcake. I must admit, a first time mom, I was a little tense about the kid having her first bites of decadent, vanilla frosting cupcake. Would she ever eat broccoli again?
She did for supper. But, there is no going back. You kind of got the feeling that she was thinking, "Did you guys know there was food like this in the world? Then what's up with the rice and lentils?"

She will crawl across the room just to push and pull this old laundry basket full of blankets over and over again. Why do we buy all those brightly-colored, plastic, battery-operated toys when all our kids are happy with a laundry basket and a wooden spatula?

Baby crunches, baby chin-ups

Suprise Shower

Our college friends Greg and Gina are having a baby at the end of June and so we threw a surprise shower for Gina. She thought she was coming to my house to pick up some paint, and 20 women surprised her at the door. Very fun. We don't know whether baby Sims is a boy or girl yet, but we do know that he or she will be one smart and stylish babe.
